Have what it takes to be a Powerhouse?

Since launching our newest program, EBA® Powerhouse, the transformation we’ve seen in students has been inspiring. Our students are gaining clarity over parts of their business they’ve struggled with for years—and we are only 3 months in.

As word has gotten out about the new strategy we are using in our businesses, it has brought up some questions from our community. And one question we have heard over and over is this:

Is Powerhouse for me if…

And it got us thinking about what it means to be a Powerhouse, and which businesses fit the model the most. And what we discovered may surprise you.

Being a Powerhouse isn’t about any certain type of business, or even where you’re at in your business. It’s not about your business but who you are as a person.

One question to proof your product

Creating a product or resource your dream customer wants and needs is the key to successful content. But how do you do this?

When crafting content that truly resonates with your audience, it's all about diving deep into the minds and hearts of those you aim to serve. By understanding their unique journeys and aspirations, you can tailor your offerings to meet them right where they are. And the easiest way to do this?

Ask them.

Consider what you can create that would guide them one step closer toward their desired transformation and then ask the following question to those on your list:

“I’m thinking of [VERB - i..e. hosting; writing; putting together] a [PRODUCT - i.e. workshop; checklist; workbook; pdf] to help you [PROMISED TRANSFORMATION]. [$DISCOUNTED PRICE] for the first few. Interested?”

EXAMPLES:

I’m thinking about putting together a 5 question workbook to help you clarify and validate your perfect business idea. This would be FREE (for now). Interested?

I’m thinking about putting together a side-by-side comparison of 3 tech stacks and their annual costs to help you decide what the right tech is for your online business. Interested?

It’s a quick tactic that will show you if your audience is interested in your offer before you have to start creating it.

By aligning your offerings with their needs, you can create content that not only meets but exceeds your dream customers' expectations—and helps you deepen your relationship with your audience in the process.

MINDSET MATTERS

The “wantrepreneur” trap

Do you have such a hunger to be an entrepreneur that you spend all your time reading books, taking courses, watching videos and making plans for your future business—but never find yourself getting to work on said business?

You may have fallen into the “wantrepreneur” trap.

Walt Disney said, “The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing” and we couldn’t agree more. Entrepreneurs realize they will only meet their goals by taking action and they have the drive to do the work to make it happen. They understand knowledge without action is meaningless.

So how can you recognize if you’ve become a wantrepreneur? There are five signs:

  1. Underestimating resources: Wantrepreneurs tend to not fully realize how much stuff they need to get a business off the ground, which can make it overwhelming when it’s time to get things going.

  2. Fear of discomfort: They avoid situations that make them feel uncomfortable, which holds them back from taking the risks needed for business success.

  3. Avoiding financial risks: Wantrepreneurs often hesitate to take the financial risks that come with entrepreneurship, which can hold them back from new opportunities.

  4. Lack of action: They love to talk about their business ideas but don't take solid steps to make them happen, leading to a standstill in progress.

  5. Making excuses: Wantrepreneurs tend to make excuses instead of tackling challenges directly, which can really slow down their entrepreneurial growth.

If you find yourself in the wantrepreneur struggle, the good news is that it’s not permanent.

Start by picking your simplest, most believed-in idea and take that crucial first step. Write down a step-by-step plan of action, starting with the initial task and leap into action without hesitation. Remember, action speaks louder than intention.

One of the key hurdles to overcome is the fear that often grips wantrepreneurs. It's the fear of commitment, fear of making mistakes and fear of investing in your business. Acknowledge these fears but don't let them paralyze you. Embrace them as stepping stones towards growth and development.

Avoid the trap of overthinking and endlessly brainstorming ideas. Instead, dive headfirst into execution. You’re ready to start your entrepreneur journey and you can do this.
