Weekly newsletter brought to your inbox every Wednesday, by your friends at Elite Blog Academy®—full of valuable insider marketing tips, tricks and inspiration to help you keep pushing forward when the days get long.

If you’re tired of obsessing over traffic, you’re not alone.

Whether you’ve been creating content for years or just started, one thing many of us can relate to is the constant chase for more traffic. “How do I get more page views? Where is my traffic coming from?” It’s a common refrain in the online blogging world. And while it’s understandable—more traffic often means more income—focusing solely on traffic is not the path to long-term success.

In today’s post on the EBA® blog, Stop Playing the Traffic Game, we are diving into why shifting your focus from attracting visitors to converting them could bring big results to your business.

POWER MOVES

The power of a stop-doing list

As online entrepreneurs, we’re constantly juggling a million tasks. From content creation to email marketing, there’s always something to do. But have you ever felt overwhelmed, like you’re running in circles without actually getting anywhere? It might be time to create a stop-doing list.

A stop-doing list is the opposite of a to-do list. Instead of focusing on what you need to add, it's about identifying and eliminating tasks that aren't serving you. It’s about cutting out the noise and prioritizing what truly matters.

So, how do you start creating a stop-doing list?

1. Identify Time Suckers

Take a close look at your daily routine. What activities consistently drain your energy or produce minimal results? Is it endless scrolling through social media, attending unproductive meetings or working on projects that don't align with your goals? Be honest with yourself about where your time goes.

2. Calculate Your ROI

Not every task is created equal. Some activities might be enjoyable but offer a low return on investment. Consider the time spent versus the value gained. If something isn't contributing to your business goals, it might be time to cut it out.

3. Listen to Your Gut

Sometimes, the best decisions come from intuition. If something feels draining or overwhelming, it's probably a good candidate for your stop-doing list. Trust your instincts and prioritize tasks that energize and inspire you.

4. Be Ruthless

Creating a stop-doing list requires discipline. You might feel guilty about eliminating tasks, but remember, it's about making space for what truly matters. Be firm and committed to your decision.

5. Delegate or Automate

Once you've identified tasks to eliminate, consider whether they can be delegated or automated. This can free up valuable time and energy.

6. Celebrate Your Success

As you start to implement your stop-doing list, celebrate your progress. Acknowledging your achievements will motivate you to continue on your path to increased productivity and focus.

Remember, a stop-doing list isn't about becoming lazy; it's about working smarter, not harder. By eliminating distractions and focusing on high-impact activities, you'll create more space for creativity, innovation and growth.

So, take a deep breath, grab a pen and paper and start crafting your stop-doing list. Your future self will thank you!

MINDSET MATTERS

When you feel lonely in the vast online marketing world

It might seem counterintuitive, but many people with large online followings often feel isolated. While the outside world sees likes, comments and a thriving online community, the reality is that behind the screen, it can feel pretty lonely.

It’s easy to compare yourself to others and start thinking, "If only I had their life." But remember, everyone’s putting their best foot forward online. Behind the perfect pictures and witty captions, people are just like you—dealing with ups and downs.

To combat that loneliness or feelings of isolation, it's important to focus on real-life connections. Spend quality time with friends and family, join clubs or groups based on your interests and consider volunteering. These activities can provide a much-needed sense of belonging and face-to-face connection.

Also, don’t be afraid to take breaks from social media! It's okay to disconnect and recharge. And remember, it’s perfectly normal to feel lonely sometimes, even with a huge audience.

You’re not alone in this, and so many are on the same journey you are! Reaching out to a friend, family member or other online business owners can provide the support you need.
