POWER MOVES

6 figures in 12 months? Here’s how.

Here at EBA®, we get a lot of questions from online business owners who are hungry to make this entrepreneur thing work. And one of the biggest goals we see is that milestone of making 6 figures so they can quit their day job for good.

Recently, Ruth shared on her @ruthsoukupbiz account the exact steps she’d take to do exactly that if she were to start over right now—and the advice she gave was GOLD.

Click HERE to see the full post in detail, or keep reading below to see the exact steps she’d take, month by month, if she was trying to build a 6-figure business right now, from scratch.

Month 1: Nail down a specific niche and exactly WHY you want to serve

  • Make sure your message and mission are clear

  • Have a general concept of the product you’ll create

  • Hire a designer, if needed,  to put together a cohesive brand guide for all of your marketing materials

Months 2-3: Go ALL IN on Instagram to nail your message

  • Post 2-3 quality Reels each day to start to grow your audience

  • Create a lead magnet and use Manychat to start collecting email addresses

  • Set up an email newsletter with Beehiiv to nurture your new subscribers

  • Start to create your product and tease it to your audience

Months 4-5: Beta launch your product to your small audience

  • After launching, refine and expand your offer to multiple tiers based on feedback

  • Continue to grow your Instagram following and email list

  • Outsource as much work as you can!

Months 6-8: Set up your evergreen sales funnel

  • Create a killer training webinar to draw people in

  • Continue to grow your audience and draw people to your funnel

  • Hire help for customer service and busywork tasks

Months 9-12: Expand your content channels to other outlets

  • Start a podcast

  • Repurpose Instagram Reels to TikTok and/or YouTube

  • Start to do more paid advertising to ramp up daily sales

This is, of course, a very summarized plan—but it shows you how achievable this goal truly is! If you want to dig in deeper, click HERE to watch our on-demand training that walks you through our proven framework. You’ll have 5 days to watch, and it’s really, really good!

MINDSET MATTERS

There are no mistakes, only lessons

In the fast-paced world of online business, setbacks and challenges are inevitable. However, how we perceive these obstacles can significantly impact our success. Instead of viewing them as failures, consider them valuable learning experiences.

Every misstep offers an opportunity for growth and improvement. By reframing setbacks as lessons, you cultivate a resilient mindset that’s essential for long-term success.

Rather than dwelling on what went wrong, focus on understanding why it happened. What can you learn from this experience? How can you prevent similar issues in the future?

Embracing a learning-oriented culture within your business is crucial. Encourage open communication and a willingness to share both successes and failures. If you have teammates, create a safe space for employees to experiment, make mistakes and learn from them without fear of reprisal.

Remember, every challenge presents an opportunity to innovate and adapt. By viewing setbacks as stepping stones rather than stumbling blocks, you’ll position your business for continued growth and success.

SHE MEANS BUSINESS

Have you ever noticed that summer is kind of a hard season to be a business owner? Our schedules are different, our priorities change and sometimes our sales even slow down. And while those are all completely normal things, it’s also true that it can feel a bit deflating.

And it’s for that reason that it is SO important to celebrate the small wins too! Maybe you finally finished a meaty module on a course you have been working through, like Jennifer in Powerhouse who recently shared:

I think this is further than I've ever made it in anything I've started!!!

Maybe you are like Powerhouse students Derek and Amy Weichel and are finally ready to launch a new product after weeks of work.

Or maybe you have found a better way of tackling day-to-day tasks in your business that just clicks. Ashleigh of Inspiring Curious Minds shared with us this week that she has been able to adapt our framework for posting consistently on Instagram to a system that works AMAZING for her and her brain and as a result has been posting consistently (without taking too much time!) for a couple of weeks whereas before she was maybe posting once or twice every couple weeks. Amazing!

(Side note: If Instagram is an area where you could use a win, download our new Instagram Reel Playbook! In it you will receive strategy tips as well as ready-to-use hooks for your Instagram that are killing it on the platform right now.)

What are some of your wins this summer? Reply to this newsletter and let us know, we’d love to cheer you on!

MARKETING FUN FACT

Lists rule the online roost! Articles in list format are typically more engaging and easier to read – consider using numbered or bulleted lists to present your information.
